A professor of mine just promised to do something for me with the oath “By the underpants of God…” I might just have to use that, as it’s delightfully irreligious. I could even rotate through a series:

“By God’s smelly socks…”

“By the armpit of the Holy Ghost…”

“By the phlegm of Jesus…”
